Magnus Abe declares for Rivers guber race, vows to fight ‘haphazard primaries’

Former Senator representing Rivers South East senatorial district, Magnus Abe, has joined the race to become the next governor of River State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Abe declared for the Rivers number one seat in B-Dere community, Gokana Local Government Area of the state on Sunday.
The event was the inauguration of the executive committee of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Solidarity Vanguard (BATS-V) in the area.
Abe promised to accept the result of the primaries if he loses provided it is a free, fair and equitable process.
He, however, said he would reject any “haphazard primaries”.
He also said the state didn’t need any aspirant anointed by Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
According to him, no single individual can decide for Rivers people who becomes governor.
