Magnus Abe expresses gratitude to President Tinubu over appointment as NUPRC Board chairman

Former Senator representing Rivers South-East, Magnus Ngei Abe, has expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Tinubu following his appointment as Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).
In a statement released on Tuesday, Abe described the appointment as a rare opportunity to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s transformation, particularly in the critical oil and gas sector.
He said the decision by President Tinubu reaffirmed his long-held belief in the President’s leadership style, vision, and commitment to rewarding loyalty and competence.
Reflecting on past public criticism of his unwavering support for Tinubu, Abe noted that his loyalty was never driven by expectations of personal reward but by the conviction that Tinubu would lead Nigeria differently and deliver measurable progress. According to him, recent economic and governance indicators are already showing that the country is on the right path.
“With this appointment, Mr President has once again demonstrated the unique qualities that make him a master of the political game and a leader Nigerians can trust,” Abe said, adding that Tinubu’s leadership does not signal a drift toward a one-party state but rather reflects broad national confidence in his leadership.
Abe also extended special appreciation to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, whom he described as a key pillar of the Tinubu political family in Rivers State.
He credited Wike with playing a decisive role in delivering Rivers State to the All Progressives Congress (APC) during what he described as one of the most challenging elections in Nigeria’s history.
He praised the political structure in the state, referring to it as the “Renewed Hope Family,” and acknowledged the support he and his family have received over the years.
