Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has confirmed the arrest of six suspects in connection with the kidnapping incident at Ahoro-Esinele community in Oyo State.
Makinde disclosed this in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Suleimon Olanrewaju, on Monday in Ibadan.
According to the governor, the suspects were arrested within the locality and are believed to be informants or logistics suppliers aiding the kidnappers.
He also noted that three additional persons of interest were arrested by another security outfit operating within the state.
Makinde said security agencies are continuing investigations to dismantle the network behind the abduction and rescue victims still in captivity.
He further assured residents that the government is intensifying efforts to restore security and prevent further attacks, while working closely with neighbouring states to curb cross-border movement of criminal groups.
The governor equally pledged continued updates on developments as operations progress.
