Makinde joins family, friends to watch US Open finals in New York

Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, was among the global tennis enthusiasts who attended the finals of the 2025 US Open at Flushing Meadows, New York.

Makinde, in a statement, said the event was not only an opportunity to witness world-class tennis but also a moment to reconnect with family and friends.

“It was lovely to catch up with family and friends as we watched the US Open Women’s and Men’s Singles Championship matches last weekend at Flushing Meadows, New York,” the governor said.

He further congratulated the winners of the tournament, Aryna Sabalenka, who clinched the women’s singles title, and Carlos Alcaraz, who emerged champion in the men’s singles category.
