Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has pledged that his administration will elevate state-owned specialist hospitals to global standards, in line with the standards of university teaching hospitals in the areas of training and healthcare delivery.
The governor made this remark while handing over 31 medical equipment items to the management of Ring Road State Hospital, Adeoyo, in Ibadan on Thursday.
Makinde, represented by his Executive Assistant on Administration, Rev’d Idowu Ogedengbe, said the delivery of the equipment was in line with his administration’s vision to upgrade specialist hospitals.
He said the procurement of the medical equipment followed an assessment of Ring Road State Hospital, Adeoyo, during a medical outreach by Christ Compassion to the Rural World in 2024.

Makinde noted that the mission could not use the state hospital to carry out surgical procedures and operations due to the condition of the hospital’s theatre facilities.
He stated that the equipment delivered to the hospital were of the highest quality and were carefully selected to ensure that their reagents and other consumables would be readily available and affordable.
Ogedengbe charged the management and staff of the hospital to make the best use of the equipment by embracing a strong maintenance culture to ensure their preservation and durability.
Earlier, the Chief Medical Director of Ring Road State Hospital, Adeoyo, Dr. Oladipo Aremu, appreciated Governor Makinde for his continued support to the health sector, stressing that the equipment would enhance the hospital’s services and help alleviate challenges in providing quality medical care for the people of Oyo State.
