Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on Monday carried out a minor cabinet reshuffle, redeploying some commissioners and swearing in Dr. Taiwo Ladipo as a commissioner in the state government.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Executive Chambers of the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, where the governor urged political appointees and public servants to intensify their efforts to ensure the successful completion of the Omituntun 2.0 administration.

Before his latest appointment, Ladipo, a former commissioner for health, served as the permanent secretary in charge of general administration. He has now been deployed to the Ministry of Establishments and Training as part of the cabinet adjustment.

Similarly, Prof. Solihu Adelabu was redeployed to the Ministry of Investment, Trade, Cooperatives and Industry in the reshuffle announced by the governor.

Speaking during the ceremony, Makinde said his administration would continue to engage individuals who share its vision and commitment to the development of Oyo State. He noted that appointments and redeployments were aimed at improving governance and service delivery.

“My government will continue to make use of individuals who fit into its vision for the state,” the governor said, adding that the removal or redeployment of appointees should be viewed as part of a restructuring process designed to achieve better outcomes rather than as punitive measures.

Makinde congratulated Ladipo on his appointment and charged him, alongside other government officials, to remain committed, loyal and diligent in the discharge of their responsibilities. He also stressed the need for the administration to leave behind a lasting legacy as it enters its concluding phase.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Governor Bayo Lawal, Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly Adebo Ogundoyin, Secretary to the State Government Prof. Olanike Adeyemo, Chief of Staff Segun Ogunwuyi, Head of Service Mrs. Olubunmi Oni, Deputy Chief of Staff Kazim Adeniyi, commissioners, permanent secretaries, Chairman of the Oyo State Civil Service Commission Kamorudeen Aderibigbe and other senior government officials.
