Makinde visits bereaved family of Ambassador Ibironke Adefope

Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on Friday paid a condolence visit to the family of the late former Nigerian High Commissioner to Zambia and Malawi, Ambassador Ibironke Adefope, to sympathize with them over her passing.

Ambassador Adefope, who was also the mother of Tara Adefope, a member of the Oyo State Executive Council, passed away on June 9, 2025, at the age of 73.

During the visit, Governor Makinde described the late ambassador as a respected elder stateswoman and a personal friend who could candidly share her thoughts with him, even when they were not pleasant.

The governor praised the late ambassador for her service and enduring legacies to humanity.

While noting that Adefope would be sorely missed, Makinde prayed that God Almighty would continue to comfort her family and all those she left behind.
