The Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Security Matters, Mr Fatai Owoseni, has condemned the assault on the Oyo State secretariat in Agodi by suspected Yoruba Nation agitators, described them as “Miscreants”.
Speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief program, Owoseni, a former commissioner of police, expressed his dismay over the incident.
The Nigerian Army attributed the attack to “Yoruba Nation adherents” who were reportedly clad in foreign military attire and armed with dangerous weapons.
According to a statement by the Army, nine individuals affiliated with the group were apprehended, and authorities recovered a Semi Automatic Pump Action rifle along with ammunition.
The incident has sparked concerns over security and underscores the ongoing tensions surrounding the Yoruba Nation agitation in the region.
While many have condemned the attack, authorities have been charged with the task of providing further updates on the investigation surrounding the invasion.
