Makinde’s Deputy Chief of Staff declares bid for Ibadan North bye-election

The Deputy Chief of Staff to the Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, popularly known as DoN, has declared his intention to contest the forthcoming bye-election for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
In a press release personally signed by him and circulated by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Bodija Akinwale, Oyekunle said his decision was informed by calls from political leaders, constituents, and stakeholders.
“After wide consultations and deep reflection, I have come to the firm decision to offer myself for service by joining the race for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency seat,” he stated.
“This is not an ambition driven by self-interest, but by the call of my leaders and the yearnings of my people.”
He pledged that his campaign would focus on responsive leadership, grassroots engagement, and impactful representation.
“I believe that the time has come to deepen my commitment to public service and bring my experience and grassroots connection to bear at the national level,” he added.
Oyekunle expressed appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde, describing him as a pillar and a source of inspiration in his political journey.
He reaffirmed his dedication to inclusive representation and community development, promising to be a true voice for Ibadan North in the National Assembly.
