The suspect, Adepoju Pelumi, was apprehended on February 10, 2026, by operatives of the Command’s Special Operations Squad during a routine patrol near the Onyerugbule Under Bridge area of Akure.

During the search, operatives recovered one locally made single-barrel gun, three live cartridges, and charms suspected to be crime-related,” Jimoh stated in a press release made available to journalists on Saturday.

The police spokesperson disclosed that during preliminary investigation, the suspect could not satisfactorily account for how he obtained the firearm and other recovered items.
