Man docked for alleged sexual assault in Ekiti

A 42-year-old man, Ajayi Oluwatosin, has been arraigned before a Chief Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman.

Police prosecutor Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi told the court that the defendant, on or about September 18, 2025, at Iworoko-Ekiti, within the Igbemo-Ekiti Magisterial District, allegedly assaulted one Okuwoga Ibukun without her consent.

Inspector Oriyomi said the act was an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 269(1) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State 2021.

Defence counsel, Barrister O. G. Abiola, urged the court to admit the defendant to bail on liberal terms, assuring that he would not abscond.

Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun granted Oluwatosin bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.

The case was adjourned till October 23 for hearing.
