Man sentenced to death for killing wife

Ondo State High Court has sentenced one Daniyan Ojo to death for killing his wife, Dorcas Daniyan, and setting the deceased ablaze.
The 50-year-old man, who is a welder, was found guilty of committing the offence as he set their house ablaze and locked his wife inside a room while sleeping.
He was said to have committed the offence on September 14, 2019, at lrese Road in Shagari Village, Akure, the state capital.
After committing the offence, he was arrested by the men of the state police command and later arraigned before the court.
Both the prosecuting and defence counsels were in court three years before the verdict was finally given.
While delivering judgement, Justice Adegboyega Adebusoye, held that the prosecution had proved the case against Ojo beyond reasonable doubt and sentenced him to death by hanging.
