Man United draw 2-2 at Burnley in Fletcher’s debut as interim manager

Manchester United were held to a 2-2 draw by Burnley at Turf Moor in Darren Fletcher’s first game in charge, leaving their quest for Champions League football in jeopardy.

United fell behind after just 13 minutes when Bashir Humphreys’ run caught Casemiro out, and Ayden Heaven’s attempted block allowed the ball to loop in off the centre-back.

The visitors grew into the game after the setback, and Benjamin Sesko stole the show in the second half, scoring twice within the opening 15 minutes. He first finished neatly from a Bruno Fernandes pass before adding a second from a Patrick Dorgu cross, seemingly putting United in control.

However, Burnley fought back late, with Lisandro Martinez giving Jaidon Anthony too much space in the area, allowing the winger to curl in a decisive equaliser.

Player performances were mixed, with Sesko shining while Martinez and Heaven struggled, both receiving a 5/10 rating. Luke Shaw impressed with his attacking contributions, earning a 7/10.

The draw means United drop points again in the hunt for a top-four finish, raising questions about consistency under their new manager.
