Manchester City beat Fulham 3-0 to keep title push alive

Manchester City eased to a comfortable 3-0 home victory over Fulham on Wednesday to maintain pressure on Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Phil Foden was the standout performer for Pep Guardiola’s side, scoring once and providing an assist as City wrapped up the contest with a dominant first-half display at the Etihad Stadium.
City opened the scoring in the 24th minute when Foden capitalised on a defensive mix-up. Fulham midfielder Sander Berge inadvertently diverted a cross into a dangerous area, allowing Foden to poke home from close range.
Moments later, the hosts doubled their advantage following a flowing team move. Foden slipped a precise pass behind the Fulham defence to Nico O’Reilly, who calmly lifted his finish over goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
Erling Haaland extended the lead to 3-0 in the 39th minute, drilling a low shot into the bottom-right corner for his 22nd league goal of the season.
Fulham’s best opportunity came through Harry Wilson, who forced a save from City goalkeeper Ederson during a rare counterattack.
However, the visitors struggled to cope with City’s relentless attacking play in a one-sided opening period. The tempo dropped after the break, with both sides managing just one shot on target in a subdued second half.
City were rarely troubled as they comfortably saw out the result.
The victory moves second-placed City to 53 points from 26 matches, while Fulham remain 12th in the table with 34 points.
