MURIC mourns late Alara of Aramoko, hails role in promoting Islam

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has expressed grief over the death of Oba Adegoke Olu-Adeyemi, the Alara of Aramoko-Ekiti, describing him as a devout Muslim and a promoter of peace and community development.

In a condolence statement signed by its Abuja FCT Chairman, Ustadh Yunus Salaudeen, MURIC commiserated with the royal family, the people of Aramoko-Ekiti, the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN), and the wider Muslim community in Ekiti State.

The group noted that the late monarch stood out as one of the few Muslim traditional rulers in Ekiti State, using his throne to advance Islam while strengthening the bond between religion and tradition.

“His death is a monumental loss to the Muslim Ummah and to the Nigerian traditional institution. He will be remembered for his uprightness, his commitment to Islam, and his bridge-building role,” the statement read in part.

MURIC prayed for the forgiveness of the monarch’s shortcomings, acceptance of his good deeds, and for Allah to grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.

It also prayed for divine strength for his family, the people of Aramoko, and the Muslim community to bear the loss.

The group ended the statement with the Qur’anic verse: “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un” (To Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return).
