Musawa unveils roadmap for arts, culture, tourism at ministerial retreat

The Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa has outlined a comprehensive vision to reposition the sector as a key driver of jobs, growth, and economic expansion.

Speaking at the ongoing Ministerial and Sectoral Retreat, the Minister said the initiative comes at a pivotal moment for the ministry, noting that Nigeria must adapt to global technological, economic, and social shifts in order to remain a hub of innovation, job creation, soft power, and cultural diplomacy.

According to the Minister, the retreat is anchored on aligning the sector’s priorities with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and broader national development goals. She added that the forum provides an opportunity to strengthen inter-agency coordination, foster collaboration with stakeholders, and chart a clear roadmap for the creative and cultural industries.

The Minister commended staff of the ministry, the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mukhtar Yawale Muhammad (MFR), and her team for their dedication and support in executing the retreat.

She also expressed appreciation to the chairmen and members of the National Assembly committees overseeing the sector for their consistent partnership.

She stressed that the roadmap being developed would not only enhance Nigeria’s cultural identity but also boost its economic competitiveness and international influence.
