Music is spiritual, not just hustle, Pheelz declares

Nigerian music producer and singer, Philip Kayode, popularly known as Pheelz, has stated that music should not be seen as a hustle or a get-rich-quick scheme.

In a recent tweet shared on X (formerly Twitter), Pheelz expressed that music serves deeper spiritual and healing purposes, transcending the common perception of it as a grind for success.

“Music is not a grind. It is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It is not a hustle. Music is life, music is feeling, music is healing, music is God,” he wrote, emphasizing the profound impact music has on the soul.

In a follow-up post, the multi-talented artist further distinguished between the music industry and the art of music itself. He suggested that while the business side of music seeks to commercialize it, the essence of music remains divine.

“The music and the music business are two different frequencies to me. The music business is man’s attempt to commodify God’s energy. The music itself is God,” Pheelz added.

Pheelz, who began his career as a producer, has worked with several top Nigerian artists, including Olamide, Davido, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, and Adekunle Gold. In 2021, he expanded his artistic range by venturing into singing, releasing two bodies of work since then.

Known for his hit productions and now evolving as a singer, Pheelz continues to make waves in the industry while maintaining that music, at its core, is far more than a means to an end—it’s a connection to the divine.
