Popular Nollywood actor, Tayo Amokade aka Ijebu, has attributed his famous character to the creation of actor, director, and producer, Muyiwa Ademola aka Muyiwa Authentic.

In a recent radio programme, Nollywood on Radio, the film star narrated how Muyiwa created the Ijebu personality that has now become a household name.

“I have always wanted to act, so when I was done with my studies at The Polytechnic of Ibadan, I enrolled in my boss, Muyiwa Ademola’s school of film and theatre. From there I started attending locations, but you see, my boss strongly believes that an actor must have knowledge of all other aspects of film and production. Hence, I was drafted to power, and I became popular as the generator man widely referred to as Spark.

“However, my boss still ensures all the students of his film school get the opportunity to play what is widely referred to as waka pass roles at one time or another before being tasked with major roles.

“It was during one of those days that my boss asked if I could do something different, like speak in a dialect other than the regular Yoruba, and I decided to speak in my mother tongue, Ijebu, and that was the birth of Ijebu on the film scene,” the actor revealed.

Ijebu has featured in several Nollywood films and has distinguished himself with his various roles.
