American entertainer and Grammy Award winner, Ciara Princess Wilson, has said her heart beats better whenever she visits Lagos.
She made this known when she joined Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the Nigerian Exchange to ring the closing gong, marking the official commencement of Lagos Fashion Week 2025.
Ciara, who arrived in Lagos for a four-day fashion event, pledged to use her global platform to promote the beauty, energy, and creative spirit of the city.
In a statement signed by Gboyega Akosile, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, she said she would be supporting Africa—especially Lagos—through fashion and music.
“I’m excited to have been enlisted in the mission to promote African fashion designs, where I will be using my platform to showcase the beauty of Lagos. This occasion is really special for me because my heart always beats better whenever I am in Lagos,” she said.
Ciara added that she had witnessed the city’s growth, from the airport to the metropolis, describing Lagos as a place of flourishing opportunities and creativity.
She noted that fashion remained a vital part of her expression and said she was honoured to be part of the project showcasing Lagos’ evolving fashion scene.
Governor Sanwo-Olu said Lagos Fashion Week reflected the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of Lagosians, positioning the city as a global hub for creativity, tourism, and investment.
