My kids will never have to go through my childhood experience, says Spyro

Nigerian singer Spyro has vowed that his children will never experience the hardships he endured growing up.

The singer, who also stated that he would not get married until he has N500 million in his bank account, made this known in a post on Instagram.

Reflecting on his challenging upbringing and his determination to secure a stable financial future for his family, Spyro shared how he never had the luxury of owning a toy as a child and had to endure many difficulties to avoid being preyed upon.

He wrote: “I was talking to someone earlier today about how I never had the opportunity to own toys as a kid. My childhood wasn’t the easiest, but one thing I told myself from a very young age is that my kids will never have to go through what I did. So, I put myself through rigorous work. In fact, I will never marry without having N500 million in my account. I fought, cried, and prayed, and today, I can afford to give my kids the life they deserve so they don’t become prey, as I almost did.”

Continuing, the singer added: “I blame all of this on bad parenting… ‘Train up a child (male/female) in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.’ Many of us should be focused on breaking the cycle of poverty so that our children won’t become victims too. Unfortunately, my generation is busy gallivanting and indulging in frivolities… hmm.”

“This is what we should be focusing on, not just criticizing. Nevertheless, it’s not enough to provide; it is also crucial to raise children with the fear of God, as that’s what separates a man from beastly tendencies. The spirit of God in a person regulates them and keeps them level-headed. Didn’t the Bible say, ‘The heart of man is desperately wicked—who can know it?’ It is God over man that keeps him sane.”
