N82bn alleged fraud: Why Yahaya Bello did not appear in court on Thursday
Sources have revealed why the trial of ex-governor Yahaya Bello scheduled for Thursday was stalled.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) failed to bring the former governor of Kogi State before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, delaying the scheduled arraignment. But the reason for this remains unknown.
After being remanded on a 16-count allegation worth N110.4 billion, Bello was previously scheduled for a new arraignment in the court on a different 19-count accusation of money laundering worth N82 billion.
However, court sources disclosed that the court did not include the matter in its daily course list due to the failure to file the required documents, Daily Trust reported.
