NAHCON secures over 26,000 pilgrims’ spaces for 2025 Hajj

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has secured 26,287 spaces for Nigerian pilgrims participating in the 2025 Hajj, with an additional 26,000 spaces reserved pending final remittances.
The commission is working to finalize all reservations before the 14th February deadline set by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (MOHU).
The secured spaces account for the deposits received from intending pilgrims, and NAHCON projects that 52,000 pilgrims will participate in the 2025 pilgrimage.
NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, led the proactive effort to reserve spaces in Mashair, ensuring compliance with the MOHU’s requirements.
The reservation process was finalized following consultations with stakeholders, including the Forum of State Chairmen, board members, and a presidency representative.
On January 17, 2025, Professor Usman signed the contract agreement at NAHCON’s Ummul Judd office in Makkah, following broad consultations with stakeholders such as Malam Idris Almakura, Alhaji Faruku Yaro Aliyu, Malam Abubakar Salihu, and Malam Ameen Amshi, who played key roles in the screening and selection process.
To avoid any last-minute setbacks, Professor Usman sought and received approval from Vice President Kashim Shettima to travel to Makkah and finalize the contract. This step is essential for the visa-uploading process scheduled to begin on February 19.
Professor Usman expressed gratitude to Vice President Shettima for his support and quick approval, which allowed for swift action in securing the necessary contracts. He assured intending pilgrims that all preparations have been made to ensure a smooth and hitch-free Hajj experience.
He urged pilgrims to follow NAHCON’s official news channels for updates and remain calm as the commission continues its preparations.
