NAS confers Tinubu as grand patron of science

The Nigerian Academy of Science (NAS) on Thursday conferred nan honour as the Grand Patron of Science.

The ceremony was held at the council of Chambers at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Tinubu in his welcome address urged members of the academy to work hard in their endeavors.

He also promised to continue to support the academy for the development of science in the country.

The NAS is the foremost independent scientific body in Nigeria which was established in 1977 (but incorporated in 1986).

NAS is uniquely positioned to bring scientific knowledge to bear on the policies/strategic direction of the country and is also dedicated to the development and advancement of science, technology, and innovation in Nigeria.
