NASENI CEO honored for engineering, industrial innovation at NEAPS 2024

The Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, received the distinguished award for Engineering and Industrial Innovation at the 2nd Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service (NEAPS).
The award was presented by Vice President Sen. Kashim Shettima on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at a ceremony held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa.
The agency in a statement signed by its Director of Information, Mr Segun Ayeoyenikan noted that the accolade recognizes Mr. Halilu’s exceptional performance and transformative leadership during his inaugural year at NASENI.
It added that under his direction, NASENI has implemented significant reforms to promote technological advancements and industrial growth, positioning itself as a key innovation hub in Africa.
According to the statement, Mr. Halilu’s leadership at NASENI has driven the development of cutting-edge technologies, sustainable industrial practices, and strategic partnerships that enhance Nigeria’s global competitiveness.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Halilu expressed gratitude to President Tinubu, Vice President Shettima, and the NASENI team, emphasizing that the award reflects their collective efforts.
“This award is a recognition of our commitment to advancing engineering and industrial innovation in Nigeria. It is a testament to the efforts of the entire NASENI team, and I am deeply honored to accept it on their behalf,” he stated.
Reveling in the achievement, NASENI restated its dedication to fostering sustainable development through technological innovation, with this award serving as a strong validation of its ongoing efforts to impact Nigeria’s industrial landscape positively.
The NEAPS also honored other prominent Nigerians, including General Abdulsalami Abubakar, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Chief of Staff Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, as well as current and former governors, ministers, lawmakers, and heads of government agencies.
The event celebrated outstanding public servants contributing to Nigeria’s development.
