National Sports Festival kicks off November 28, Osinbajo commends Delta for hosting

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has commended Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa for making his state the host of the 2022 National Sports Festival.

Lighting the torch of the Festival that will travel round the country in Abuja, Tuesday evening, Osinbajo expressed his delight by kicking off the process that signifies the commencement of the fiesta. The Vice President represented President Muhammadu Buhari at the event.

Osinbajo underscored the importance of the Sports Festival to National development and breeding of talents.

He wrote on his social media handles: “Representing @muhammadubuhari at the flag-off ceremony for the movement of the torch of unity for the 21st National Sports Festival today, I expressed my delight at the privilege of officially kicking off the process that would lead to the commencement of the festival, billed for November 28 – December 10.

“The National sports festival is a crucial activity in the sporting sector of our country. It is the breeding ground for the production of the very outstanding talents that go on to become world champions and as such, is a festival of critical importance.

“I also commended the Hon Minister of sports, Sunday Dare, and congratulated the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, @iaokowa and the people of Delta State for accepting to host the festival.”
