NBBF President celebrates D’Tigers’ Afrobasket qualification

…lauds NSC for its timely support

President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), Engineer Ahmadu Musa Kida, has expressed excitement over the performance of D’Tigers at the just-concluded Afrobasket 3rd Window Qualifiers in Tripoli, Libya, where Nigeria secured a spot in the 2025 Afrobasket finals, scheduled for August in Angola.

Kida, elated by the team’s achievement, praised the players for their hunger and determination in overcoming their opponents to earn qualification for the tournament.

He commended the players, coaches, and team officials for meeting the expectations of their passionate Nigerian supporters.

Kida also assured the team and basketball enthusiasts across the country that the NBBF would collaborate with the National Sports Commission (NSC) to ensure early preparations, allowing the team to compete favorably in the Afrobasket finals.

He particularly appreciated the leadership of the NSC for facilitating the Abuja training camp ahead of the qualifiers in Libya and for easing the logistics required for the team’s participation.
