President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), Musa Kida, has dedicated the D’Tigress’ triumph at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, attributing the team’s success to the President’s leadership and Renewed Hope agenda.

An excited Kida, visibly elated after Nigeria’s 78–64 victory over Mali in Sunday’s final, said the win marked the successful completion of “Mission V” — a fifth consecutive AfroBasket title for D’Tigress.

“Five AfroBasket titles in a row, and not losing a single match to any African national team, is not just dominance—it is our legacy,” Kida declared. “Tonight, in Abidjan, our D’Tigress have done the extraordinary—Mission Five has become Mission V Accomplished!”

He praised the team’s resilience and passion, describing the players as fearless ambassadors of Nigeria’s fighting spirit—resilient, bold, and unstoppable.

“We proudly dedicate this historic victory to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose unwavering commitment to revitalizing sports under the Renewed Hope agenda has sparked a new era for athletes across the nation,” Kida stated.

According to him, President Tinubu’s leadership has inspired every effort made by the team—from rebounds to slam dunks—fueling their journey to glory. “Nigeria stands tall tonight, not just as champions, but as a beacon of what is possible when hope is renewed and excellence is pursued,” he added.

Under Kida’s leadership, D’Tigress has transformed into a continental and global force, winning four of the five back-to-back AfroBasket titles during his tenure.

He also highlighted the team’s historic performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where D’Tigress became the first African team to reach the quarterfinals of the prestigious global competition.
