The President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), Engineer Ahmadu Musa Kida, paid a goodwill visit on Wednesday to the Abuja camp of D’Tigers, who are preparing for the 3rd Window of the Afrobasket Qualifiers scheduled to be held in Tripoli, Libya.
Kida, warmly welcomed by the excited players, expressed his satisfaction with their enthusiasm and assured them of the NBBF board’s continued support and encouragement.
He urged the players, scouted and selected from the Nigerian basketball league, to consistently give their best performances. Kida also reminded them that there is no difference between them and the foreign-based players set to join the team in Tripoli for the qualifiers.
Kida encouraged the team to give their all in the upcoming games and make Nigeria proud, adding that the nation is solidly behind them.
The players are expected to travel to Libya on February 16, where they will be joined by the foreign-based players.
Under the leadership of coach Abdulrahman Mohammed, D’Tigers will aim to secure an Afrobasket ticket in what has been described as a make-or-break qualifier for the team.
