NBTE approves ND Law, Journalism, others for Kwara Polytechnic

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has granted full accreditation to all programmes presented by Kwara State Polytechnic during its recent accreditation and resource inspection visit.

The Board also approved the commencement of several new National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes starting from the 2025/2026 academic session.

In its approval letter signed by the Director of Polytechnic and Allied Programmes, Dr. Fatima Kabir Umar, NBTE confirmed the accreditation of ND programmes in Medical Imaging, Health Information Management, Industrial and Labour Relations, Law, and Chemical Engineering Technology, among others.

Similarly, the Board approved new HND programmes in Agribusiness Technology, Crop Production Technology, Journalism and Media Studies, Tourism Management Technology, Mechatronics Engineering, and Urban and Regional Planning.

During the NBTE’s visit, Dr. Umar commended the Polytechnic’s facilities and curriculum, praising the leadership of the Rector, Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed, for introducing relevant programmes that address labour market demands.

She encouraged the management to continue expanding its academic offerings to absorb more admission seekers. The Rector, in response, expressed gratitude to the NBTE team for their constructive feedback and pledged to uphold high educational standards.

Some Polytechnic staff, while commending the management, noted that the accreditation would drive further innovations in teaching and learning and contribute significantly to the growth of technical and vocational education in Nigeria.
