NCAA accredits NCAT as official ARFF training provider
The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) today granted an accreditation certificate to the Aerodrome Emergency Training School of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, officially endorsing it as Nigeria’s designated provider for Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) training.
The award ceremony, held at the NCAA’s corporate headquarters in Abuja, was presided over by Acting Director General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo. The accreditation aligns with Najomo’s commitment to facilitating business ease in the aviation sector while upholding stringent safety and quality standards.
This accreditation, the first of its kind for ARFF training in Nigeria, is set to elevate safety protocols and uniform standards within the nation’s aviation industry. Key benefits include improved regulatory compliance, enhanced safety measures, and bolstered global recognition for the college.
It also opens opportunities for increased student enrollment, inflow of foreign exchange, and potential access to new funding sources, while reinforcing the NCAA’s reputation among domestic and international aviation stakeholders.
Expressing his appreciation during the ceremony, Acting Rector of NCAT, Mr. Joseph Imalighwe, commended Capt. Najomo for his leadership in the industry and pledged NCAT’s commitment to maintaining the standards required for this accreditation.
