NCAA clarifies status of Arik Air operations following Court order

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has addressed recent reports regarding the grounding of three Arik Air aircraft due to a court order.
According to a statement signed by Michael Achimugu, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, the NCAA clarified that this action does not equate to a suspension of Arik Air’s overall operations by the NCAA or the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development.
The NCAA emphasized its obligation to comply with the court order, which resulted in the grounding of the aircraft with registration numbers 5NMJF, 5NMJQ, and 5NBKX, following a Supreme Court decision. The authority assured that this measure is strictly in line with regulatory and safety standards.
The NCAA reiterated that Arik Air’s flight operations continue as scheduled and are unaffected by the court order, with the airline maintaining its ability to operate its remaining fleet.
“We appreciate the public’s understanding and patience as Arik Air navigates this situation with minimal disruption,” the statement concluded.
