NCC, ICANN hold DNSSEC extension validation awareness seminar Dec 12

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is inviting prospective participants to register for a Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) awareness webinar slated for Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 11:00a.m. WAT.

NCC, in a notice on its facebook page, disclosed that the webinar is being organised in collaboration with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).

It also stated the objective of the virtual programme is “to promote DNSSEC validation and ensure Nigeria achieves increased awareness by the end of the year and at least 50 percent DNSSEC validation rate” by the First Quarter (Q1) of 2025.

The Commission disclosed the speakers at the webinar include Babagana Digima, Head of New Media and Information Security at NCC; Dr. Ibiso Kingsley-George, Head of Internet Governance Unit of NCC; and Yazid Akanho, Technical Engagement Manager for Middle East and Africa (MEA) at ICANN.
