NDA Commandant congratulates Liberia on 178th independence anniversary

The Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Major General AK Ibrahim (OFR), has congratulated the government and people of the Republic of Liberia on the country’s 178th Independence Anniversary.
The congratulatory message was delivered during a symbolic event at the NDA Headquarters in Afaka, Kaduna, which also honoured two Liberian cadets currently undergoing training at the Academy.
Major General Ibrahim commended Liberia’s commitment to peace, democratic governance, and regional cooperation. He emphasized the enduring military and diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Liberia, calling the relationship a model of bilateral and regional collaboration.
“The presence of Liberian cadets here at the NDA is a testament to the strong and mutually beneficial ties between our two nations,” he said. “It also reflects our shared commitment to peace, security, and sustainable development across West Africa.”
He praised the cadets for their discipline, academic excellence, and military performance, describing them as embodiments of the unity and cooperation the NDA fosters among allied nations.
The Commandant reaffirmed the NDA’s dedication to international military cooperation, highlighting its long-standing tradition of training foreign cadets from friendly countries.
According to him, the Academy’s broader mandate includes promoting regional stability and shared security values through such exchanges and partnerships.
The event concluded with a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony led by allied cadet JS Flomo, in the presence of the Commandant and senior officers, symbolizing unity, camaraderie, and enduring international friendship.
