NDDC seeks partnership with Oluremi Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is exploring a strategic partnership with the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), an empowerment program spearheaded by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, announced this development following a meeting with Senator Tinubu.

According to Ogbuku, the partnership aims to broaden the scope of empowerment and development initiatives in the Niger Delta region, focusing on areas such as medical outreach, education, and youth empowerment.

Speaking on the proposed collaboration, Dr. Ogbuku said, “We in NDDC have observed the many laudable projects of the Renewed Hope Initiative, and we see a great opportunity to align with their goals. This partnership will cover various areas, from medical outreach to education, and will play a pivotal role in advancing our shared objectives.”

Dr. Ogbuku highlighted that the NDDC’s Youth Internship Scheme, which focuses on job creation and women’s empowerment, will be integrated into this collaboration. Additionally, educational tools distributed by the NDDC will be part of the broader efforts under this partnership with RHI.

“Our team and the RHI team will soon meet to expand on these areas of cooperation. The partnership will bring increased development and empowerment to women and youths in the Niger Delta,” he said.

The collaboration is expected to bring greater benefits to the region by enhancing ongoing efforts to uplift women and youths, while providing additional resources for healthcare, education, and skill development.

The Renewed Hope Initiative, under the leadership of the First Lady, has been lauded for its impactful projects across Nigeria, particularly in empowering women and youths.
