Ndigbo Lagos APC endorses Tinubu/Shettima

Igbos in All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, have thrown their weight behind Asiwaju Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The Igbos, who endorsed Tinubu/Shettima on Tuesday at the LTV complex, said that Tinubu remains the best man to govern Nigeria in 2023.
In his address, Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Drainage Services and Leader of APC Ndigbo in Lagos, Joe Igbokwe, said that Tinubu is the best man to rule Nigeria after the tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Igbokwe said that anyone who had governed Lagos State would effortlessly govern Nigeria.
“Lagos is a 24 hour state and so anybody who has been governor in the state will not find it difficult to rule Nigeria. I challenge other presidential candidates to show their achievements to Nigerians,” Igbokwe said..
The APC chieftain added that Ndigbo in Lagos needed to protect their massive investments in the state as they have so much to gain by supporting Tinubu.

He lauded Tinubu for the support he had given to Ndigbo in Lagos and urged Igbos in the state to not only support Tinubu but to support all APC candidates in the state, including the governor.
Igbokwe pledged that the APC would not fail the Igbos.

In his comments, Hon. Jude Idumogu who is representing Oshodi Isolo II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, said that Tinubu remained the most experienced of the presidential candidates.
Idimogwu said that Igbos in Lagos remained part of the party in leadership because they earned their living in the state and as such, must protect it.
He appealed to Nigerians to see that among the presidential candidates, Tinubu remained the best in terms of competence.
Idimogwu added: “Since 2007 that Tinubu left office, he is still relevant in politics and power play in Nigeria because of his sagacity and the best thing we can do is to give him that support.”
The State Chairman of APC, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, speaking at the event, assured the Igbos of more benefits from the party, saying that Igbos’ support for the party’s candidates would not be taken for granted.
Ojelabi, who expressed satisfaction with the unity among the leaders of Ndigbo, said the Igbos should consider the positive impact Tinubu made on their businesses when he was governor of Lagos.
The party chairman said that it was Tinubu who turned Aspanda Market to a pure economic hub for the Igbos, adding that the APC presidential candidate was the only one who had incorporated the Igbos into governance in Lagos.
He said: ” Tinubu was the only governor that included an Igbo man in governance by appointing Mr Ben Akabueze as Commissioner for Budget in 1999.
“Let us join hands together to make Tinubu Nigerian president in 2023. The reward for your investment in Lagos is for all of us to vote APC in 2023. I will urge you to vote your conscience and your conscience is to vote APC on election day.”
