Need to rally round President Tinubu, by Kola Amzat

There is no gainsaid the fact that Nigeria is a heterogeneous society, with huge diversity, screwed in multi-ethnic groups, multi-religious, multi-lingual and multi-cultural setting.
With the above setting, it’s sometimes difficult to reach consensus on many fundamental issues affecting the country and no one would disagree with me that, this has been majorly the bane of the country over years.
Our country situation is obviously in contrast to what’s obtainable in Norway, a Scandinavian country, as well as Asian power houses-India, China and Japan that are homogenous, ethnic wise, culturally, linguistically and even, religiously.
But, despite the challenges in Nigeria setting, provident has banded together over 300 ethnic groups in country like umbilical cord, and it’s important we embrace unity of purpose and togetherness of mind, with a view to settling down and start resolving our problems.
President Bola Tinubu is not our problem and would never be; rather, he’s an appropriate man to navigate the nation through this difficult and tough time the country is plunged, on account of decades of maladministration and deliberate mismanagement of our resources by successive administrations.
The ex-Lagos state governor stands tall above others, to carry out the onerous and tough assignment of turning the tide, on account of his huge and unassailable political experience, his tremendous knowledge of the country’s dynamics, admirable knowledge of the economy, as well as oil sector, having been involved at the top-echelon in Mobil Oil-Producing and above all, his zeal, patriotism, courage, will and determination to lead the country.
The vociferous voice of a motley crowd of opposition in the North that are hell-bent in inciting the northern vast population against the administration must stop.
The few northern leaders in that group have no justifications whatsoever for recent sporadic attacks and venoms on Tinubu administration.
It’s Almighty God who appoints leader over a country; no one under the earth surface does, and even has capacity and audacity to hold brief for Him.
The recent pronouncement of two or three northern elders that they would mobilize the northern people against the president during the next presidential election is unwarranted, provocative and, condemnable in its entirety.
Their anger and venom is simply a misplaced aggression!
They must learn how to resist the temptation of arrogating to themselves the power and authority that they don’t have.
It’s also in the public domain that the hoodlums, miscreants and urchins who hijacked the recent disorganized and destructive protest were sponsored by these northern elders.
Indeed, it’s an auspicious time to encourage the few elders in the north who are simply allergic to have a southern man occupying Aso Villa to start having a re-think by facing the stark reality.
The country belong to all of us and it’s not the exclusive property of any ethnic group.
The president has not done anything untoward to the north since his inauguration to warrant such undue attacks.
For the records, key ministries-Agricultures, Defense, Education, Environment, Budget Planning, Foreign, Information, and Health etc, have as their helmsmen ministers of northern descent.
Key Agencies of government-NNPCL, NPA, NIMASA, NDE, NIHSA, NPC as well as other A-list parastatals are within the firm control of northern people.
This is through the benevolence and fair-mindedness of the president.
Even, with the country under the watch of a northern president, they won’t have a better deal.
This writer also intend to deploy this medium to appeal to ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo on the need for him to always cultivate interfacing, engaging and conferring with the president in Aso Villa if there are issues he considers of national importance, instead of mischievously calling press conference or make his views known each time he hosts any group of stakeholders.
What’s keeping him away from Aso Villa? Why is he making himself UNAVAILABLE in all the council of states meeting since Muhammud Buhari administration?
If other past leaders of government -Goodluck Jonathan, Yakubu Gowon, Abdulsalam Abubakar, Ibrahim Babangida are toeing his path, would it have augur well for the country?
It’s high time that the retired general accept the fact that, no one reigns for-ever and that, there is an incumbent president who every Nigerian regardless of status or past achievement, must be subject to.
Let me also remind the governors across the country irrespective of political affiliation that there is only one president and one SOVEREIGNTY in the country.
The only recognized location where presidential power and authority flows to all Nigerians as ENSHRINED in 1999 Constitution as amended, is Aso Villa.
This is an unmistakable fact!
And, it’s expected that the governors who ordinarily should know better, must appreciate and absolutely respect this.
The recent outburst of Seyi Makinde with respect to recent AUTONOMY granted by Apex Court to Local Government Council Authority/s is counter-productive, unwarranted and in bad fate.
It’s also in the public domain that he’s busy instigating 33 LG Authority/s in Oyo state to pull out of ALGON.
The same governor has alleged that Oyo state didn’t benefit from about ₦587 billion palliates fund made available to all the 36 states, including FCT administration for the downtrodden, despite the fact that all available records revealed that the state benefitted. .
May be the governor is oblivious of the fact that, his recklessness and unguarded statement is an affront and direct attack on the sovereignty of the President, Commander-in-Chief, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The recent aspersions and doubts cast on Tinubu administration by governor of Bauchi state is also a pronouncement in bad fate and should be condemned by all well-meaning and well-spirited Nigerians, as his action is capable of eroding the trust and confidence of Nigerians on the government.
Finally, it’s important to reiterate that Nigerians belong to us all, and we must all collaborate to contribute our respective quotas to its prosperity and development.
As you laid your bed, so you lie on it!
America, Great Britain, Germany, France and all other foreign countries that Nigerians are fleeing to in search of comfort, are all products of centuries of toiling, struggles, commitments and patriotism by their nationals to build a functional, working and resourceful nation.
Is it not ironical that while Nigerians are moving out in drove to other countries, foreigners-Chinese, Japanese, Americans, Britons, Israelis and other foreign nationals are moving into Nigerians in hundreds to take over our economy!
Nigerians must learn to collaborate with the president in his efforts to reposition, reengineer, restructure and re-fix all the nation facets-economic, political, infrastructures and socio-cultural settings.
This writer doesn’t have any doubt whatsoever that with patience, the country would soon be turned around.
