New Olubadan to be installed March 11

The coronation ceremony of High Chief Olalekan Balogun as the new Olubadan of Ibadanland will hold on March 11, 2022.

This was disclosed in a letter signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Mr. B.A. Olanrewaju, which was seen by our correspondent.

Olanrewaju said Balogun’s installation was coming up after Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, approved his appointment as the 42nd Olubadan.

It would be recalled that Governor Makinde approved the appointment of Balogun as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland on February 14.

The step became imperative following the demise of Oba Saliu Adetunji on January 2.
