The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), led by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, has strongly condemned the recent attack on Yelewata and Daudu communities in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.

In a statement released on Monday and signed by the NGF Chairman, the Forum described the assault as a heinous act and a grave violation of human dignity.

The Forum extended heartfelt condolences to Governor Hyacinth Alia, the government, and the people of Benue State, expressing deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives and destruction.

“We stand in unwavering solidarity with the bereaved families and the government of Benue State during this time of profound grief,” the statement read.

The NGF also prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed, strength for grieving families, quick recovery for the injured, and resilience for survivors.

It pledged full cooperation with Benue State and relevant security agencies to restore peace and order in the affected areas.

The Forum further urged Nigerians across all divides to unite in condemning violence and promoting peace, justice, and mutual respect.

“This moment calls for collective resolve to build a safer and more just society for all,” it concluded.
