The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has expressed joy and relief over the successful rescue of the schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oriire community, Oyo State, nearly two months ago.
In a statement issued on Friday night by its Chairman and Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the forum congratulated President Bola Tinubu on the successful outcome of the operation, describing it as the result of months of high-level coordination, intelligence gathering and disciplined execution by security agencies.
The forum also rejoiced with the rescued victims and their families, congratulating them on their safe reunion after weeks of uncertainty and anguish.
It equally commended the Oyo State Government for its collaboration with the Federal Government and security agencies, noting that the partnership contributed significantly to the successful rescue operation.
“We are especially proud of the commitment and professionalism of our security forces throughout the operation,” the statement read.
The NGF expressed confidence in the Federal Government’s resolve to sustain similar operations aimed at dismantling kidnapping networks and rescuing victims across the country.
The forum reaffirmed its support for ongoing efforts to strengthen national security and protect the lives and property of Nigerians through improved collaboration among all levels of government.
It also called on citizens to continue supporting the efforts of security agencies by providing timely and credible information, stressing that collective action remains essential to tackling insecurity across the country.
