Head coach of Nigeria’s women’s beach volleyball team, Kayode Ajilore, has praised his players for securing a ticket to the 2025 World Championship during the CAVB Continental Championship held in Martil, Morocco.

The Nigerian team qualified for the World Championship, scheduled for November 2025 in Adelaide, Australia, after finishing third at the competition in Morocco.

The duo of Esther Mbah and Pamela Bawa defeated Egypt 2-1 (21-14, 20-22, 15-9) in the third-place match to seal Nigeria’s qualification.

Ajilore described the achievement as a product of hard work, determination, and teamwork. He also commended Engineer Musa Nimrod, President of the CAVB Beach Volleyball Commission, for his unwavering support in providing a platform for the players to succeed.

“Firstly, I want to give glory to God for crowning our efforts with success. The players have shown the world that winning silver at the African Games was no fluke,” Ajilore said.

He also thanked the Nigeria Volleyball Federation board members for their consistent support, which contributed to the team’s progress.

Ajilore further acknowledged the role of Samuel Onikeku, Sports Secretary of the Nigeria Customs Service, whose presence and financial support in Morocco, he said, significantly motivated the team.

“Our chief supporter, Samuel Onikeku, stood by us throughout the championship. His support, both financially and mentally, gave the team a huge boost,” he added.
