Nigeria engages IMF on economic growth prospects under Tinubu

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun has kicked off his participation at the IMF Annual Meetings in Washington DC with a key discussion with International Monetary Fund (IMF), Managing Director, Kristalina Georgieva.

Federal Ministry of Finance on X revealed that Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Yemi Cardoso was also in attendance.

The tweet stated that the meeting focused on Nigeria’s economic growth prospects, highlighting the critical need to enhance social protection systems, and reviewed the significant progress achieved under President Bola Tinubu’s ambitious reform agenda.

“Discussions throughout the week will focus on Nigeria’s commitment to advancing its economy and ensuring sustainable development,” it added.
