Nigeria mourns victims of South Korea’s Jeju Air Flight 2216 crash

The Nigerian government has expressed deep sympathy to the Republic of Korea following the devastating crash of Jeju Air Flight 2216 on Sunday, which resulted in the loss of 179 lives.
The Boeing 737-800, which was returning from Bangkok, Thailand, crashed while attempting to land at Muan International Airport in southern South Korea. The aircraft skidded off the runway, colliding with a wall, which led to a fiery explosion. Out of the 181 passengers and crew on board, only two survived, according to reports.
In response to the tragedy, the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement of condolence. Spokesperson Kimiebi Ebienfa conveyed the Nigerian government’s heartfelt sympathy to the South Korean government and the families of the victims.
“The Federal Republic of Nigeria wishes to express her sincere condolences to the Government and People of the Republic of Korea for this unfortunate tragedy,” the statement said.
Nigeria joins the global community in mourning the loss and stands in solidarity with South Korea during this difficult time.
