Nigeria moves 3 places up in latest FIFA rankings

Nigeria has benefitted from the impressive performance of the Super Eagles in the recent 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, as the country moved up by three places in the latest FIFA rankings.

According to the latest ranking released by FIFA, Nigeria recorded an improvement, moving from the 39th position to the 36th position.

Consequently, Nigeria also climbed the standings on the continent, now ranked as the 4th best in Africa, behind Morocco, Senegal, and Egypt, who are ranked 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively.

The Super Eagles defeated the Mediterranean Knights of Libya 1-0 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

Despite the second leg not yet taking place, the Super Eagles retained their position as the leader of the group.

Algeria is placed 5th, AFCON title holders Côte d’Ivoire occupy the 6th spot, while Tunisia, Cameroon, Mali, and the Democratic Republic of Congo are ranked 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th respectively.
