Nigeria moving towards recovery, says Pa Fasoranti in Independence message
By Boye Oyeyemi –
Leader of Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, has expressed confidence that Nigeria is on course to becoming a nation its people will be proud of.
In his Independence Day goodwill message, issued in Ibadan by the group’s National Publicity Secretary, Jare Ajayi, Fasoranti noted that though the country had faced many difficulties, signs of recovery and growth were visible.
He stated, “By the grace of God, the indomitable spirit of Nigerians, the abundant resources with which the country is endowed, and the determination demonstrated by the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu towards realising Nigeria’s developmental aspirations through the Renewed Hope Agenda of the present administration.”
The Afenifere leader said government policies were already showing results, adding that more positive outcomes would be seen before the end of the year.
He added that, “For instance, the economy is expected to improve significantly in the new year, based on signs already evident and in line with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Furthermore, substantial improvements in security are anticipated, particularly with the impending launch of state police, a move the government is pursuing with great seriousness.”
Fasoranti urged state governments to strengthen local government autonomy, stressing that effective grassroots governance would enable citizens to feel the impact of democracy more directly.
He also called for urgent restructuring of the federation, insisting it remains the surest way to overcome Nigeria’s challenges and actualise the vision of the country’s founding fathers.
