The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has deepened its collaboration with Dutch migration authorities through high-level discussions aimed at enhancing migration management and operational effectiveness.

During a working visit to the Netherlands on February 17, 2025, the Comptroller General of Immigration (CGI), Kemi Nandap, met with key officials from the Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security, including representatives from the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) and the Repatriation and Deportation Service (RDS).

At the Repatriation and Deportation Service headquarters, CGI Nandap held discussions with Director-General Simone Steendijk and Director of International Affairs Rob Bokhoven, who stressed the importance of enhanced cooperation between both countries.

The Dutch officials pledged support for the NIS through advanced capacity-building programs, technical expertise exchanges, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

According to a statement by ACI AS Akinlabi, Service Public Relations Officer, these efforts aim to improve Nigeria’s migration processes and enhance border security management.

In another engagement, CGI Nandap met with Rodhia Maas, Director-General of the Immigration and Naturalization Service, to discuss key migration policies of mutual interest.

She also met with Mr. V. Cramer, Deputy Director of Migration under the newly established Dutch Ministry of Asylum and Migration, and held a separate meeting with Mr. P. Schuurman, Special Envoy for Migration from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
