Nigeria, Saudi Arabia explore cultural, economic cooperation in New York

Nigeria’s Minister of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa, has led a delegation to engage in talks with Saudi Arabia aimed at bolstering cultural and economic ties between the two nations.

The development took place on the sidelines of the Summit of the Future in New York, where Musawa met with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Economy and Planning, Faisal bin Fadhil Alibrahim.

During the discussions, Musawa emphasized Nigeria’s commitment to promoting its creative economy and cultural heritage on the global stage.

The meeting explored areas of mutual interest, focusing on deepening cooperation between both countries in sectors that could foster growth and strengthen bilateral relations.

The talks coincided with Saudi Arabia’s launch of the Echoes of Time exhibition, an event showcasing the country’s archaeological discoveries and artistic achievements.

Marking the 20th anniversary of the German Archaeological Institute’s excavations in Saudi Arabia, the exhibition also highlights the significance of environmental conservation in the context of historical and ecological conversations.

Musawa called on stakeholders to engage in cultural exchanges and economic collaborations that would benefit both Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, underlining the importance of partnerships in enhancing global cultural diplomacy.
