Nigeria to make strong comeback at 2024 World Travel Market in London
Nigeria is set to return to the global tourism stage at the 2024 World Travel Market (WTM) in London after nearly a decade-long absence.
The Honourable Minister of Tourism, Mrs. Lola Ade-John, will lead a delegation of key tourism stakeholders from November 5th to 7th, showcasing the country’s rich tourism potential.
In preparation for the event, the Minister met with representatives from major tourism bodies, including the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA), the Nigeria Association of Tour Operators (NATOP), and the Hospitality and Tourism Management Association of Nigeria (HATMAN). During the meeting, plans were solidified to ensure a coordinated and impactful representation of Nigeria at the prestigious event.
Mrs. Ade-John stressed the importance of presenting a unified front to boost Nigeria’s visibility and attract international partnerships. “This is an opportunity for Nigeria to make a significant impact and reposition our tourism sector for growth,” she noted.
In collaboration with NANTA, which has previously represented Nigeria at the WTM independently, the Ministry aims to strengthen the country’s presence at the event. The unified approach is expected to attract global attention, foster partnerships, and stimulate investments in Nigeria’s tourism industry.
The 2024 WTM, one of the world’s largest tourism exhibitions, provides a prime opportunity for Nigeria to promote its diverse attractions, elevate its international profile, and contribute to the country’s economic diversification efforts.
