Nigeria’s First Lady Oluremi Tinubu elected to OAFLAD Steering Committee

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has been elected to the Steering Committee of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), the organization’s highest decision-making body.

The election took place during OAFLAD’s 29th Ordinary General Assembly, held alongside the 38th African Union Summit Ordinary Session in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Senator Tinubu joins the eight-member committee as one of two representatives for West Africa. The newly elected members include Sierra Leone, whose First Lady now serves as the organization’s president, along with Angola (vice president), Malawi, Kenya, Ethiopia, Equatorial Guinea, and Congo.

Her tenure on the committee will span two years, during which she is expected to continue her active involvement in OAFLAD’s initiatives.

Senator Tinubu will play a key role in advancing the organization’s advocacy efforts and promoting the realization of its 2025–2030 Strategic Framework.
