Ogbodo Nnam has formally assumed duty as the new Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation. The handover ceremony took place on Monday, May 12, 2025, at the Ministry’s Conference Room in Radio House, Abuja.
In his inaugural address to directors and staff, Nnam thanked them for the warm welcome and reflected on his longstanding professional ties within the Ministry. He emphasized unity and performance as essential to fulfilling the Ministry’s mandate of public communication and national orientation.
“The Ministry of Information and National Orientation plays a crucial role in disseminating government policies and programs. We must work as a team to deliver on our shared mandate,” he said.
Nnam stressed the need to align with the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2025 (FCSSIP25), especially in adopting digital tools for administrative efficiency. He noted the Ministry had yet to go live on the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platform and called for urgent collective action.
“We must rise to the occasion. The Ministry cannot lag behind while others move forward with reforms,” he said, urging staff to commit to “working harder and smarter” to meet modernization targets.
During the handover, Director of Production, Publication, and Documentation, Mr. Ibidapo Okunnu—who had been overseeing the office—highlighted ongoing projects. He cited the Ministerial Press Briefing Series as a key initiative tied to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second anniversary.
Preparations are also ongoing for the May 29 anniversary, with the National Communications Team—chaired by the Honourable Minister—coordinating activities nationwide.
