The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Nigerian National League (NNL) was held on Tuesday in Kaduna, with various decisions taken ahead of the commencement of the new season.

The AGM, which was witnessed by the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, was attended by NNL club owners as well as all club officials.

At the end of the meeting, a kickoff date of November 8, 2025, was announced, with an abridged format adopted, similar to previous seasons.

However, the format for the league was adjusted with the scrapping of the Super 8, which was previously used to determine the promoted teams, featuring the two top teams from each group.

This season, it was agreed that each group winner from the four groups (conferences) will automatically gain promotion to the elite cadre, the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
